Seveso III Directive 2012/18/EU - Control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances

About Directive 2012/18/EU - the Seveso III Directive

Directive 2012/18/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances (the Seveso III Directive) sets the rules for preventing major accidents at establishments holding dangerous substances above defined thresholds, and for limiting their consequences for human health and the environment. It classifies establishments as lower-tier or upper-tier against the qualifying quantities in Annex I, and lays down notification, major-accident prevention policy, safety report, emergency planning, land-use planning, public information and inspection obligations. This is why we built this website, where we present the most up-to-date consolidated version of the Seveso III Directive in a structured and easy-to-navigate format.

Using the latest consolidated text of Directive 2012/18/EU from EUR-Lex as our source material, we split it into individual pages corresponding to articles and annexes of the legal text and added several enhancements to improve navigation and usability.

We hope that you will find this tool useful in your study of the Seveso legislation. If you have any questions or feedback, please let us know at info@nextsds.com
